The MaxSeal® PRO pet door is constructed from high-quality aluminum that is inherently resistant to rust. This door is designed not only for longevity but also to maintain an attractive appearance throughout its lifespan. The robust piano-hinged vinyl flaps are treated for UV protection and weatherproofed to avoid issues such as shrinking, cracking, discoloration, and warping. Many flap brands fail to withstand harsh conditions, including direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and excessive use. Staggered stainless steel strike plates are securely riveted to the sides and bottom of the flap, linking to strong embedded magnets within the aluminum frame, thereby creating an outstanding air seal.

For the Security Cover to function effectively, it needs to be able to move freely without any obstructions. To ensure optimal performance, it is essential to maintain a minimum clearance of 1/2″ above the pet door. Occasionally, a trim piece or other obstruction may prevent achieving this required clearance. In such situations, it is advisable to order the pet door with a “side slide” (side sliding security cover) or a spacer.
